BIG ‘N’ HAIRY is proud to anounce the release of ”Extra Extra EP” by Boyfriend, the Lithuanian producer who is well known in the moombahton scene for his original approach towards the genre. Whether it be moombahton, house, other tropical dance vibes or whatever feels right at the moment, Boyfriend has managed to cultivate his own style. With “Extra Extra EP”, Boyfriend slows things down for us, taking his sounds to new, dark, trancey and melodic levels. First off is Random Story, a beautifully crafted, deep and innovative moombahton track that showcases the ever-present synths which in Boyfriend’s own words are “a guilty pleasure”. Second track off the EP is Extra Extra, a more experimental, melodic track that takes elements from dubstep and dub. in short, ”Extra Extra EP” is a sweet journey that seems to calm the deepest of the senses upon first listen of these true sounds. Stream “Extra Extra EP” below and follow the link for a free download of “Random Story” exclusively on Mad Decent. Buy the complete release on beatport.
The Partysquad is giving away their latest reggae-rave-gabber banger titled ‘Lighterman’ which is taken from their upcoming ‘Badman Rave EP’ that drops the 16th of April on Mad Decent. After the massive impact of Original Don, a collaboration between The Partysquad and Major Lazer, the dutch duo decided to go balls out with this new style they coined as badman rave, described in their own words as “All reggae mixed up with crazy electro, gabber, hardstyle, dutch, tropical and what have you..”. The Partysquad has been experimenting with this style since 2009, notably on their first original reggae electro banger ‘Murderer‘ of which some sample bits can also be heard in ‘Lighterman’. The whole EP (which we can’t share just yet) is by far one of the best releases we’ve heard this year, with not a single filler track on it. Congratulations Partysquad, you guys are now known as the new supergalactic emperors of badman rave.

Diogo Santos is pretty new to the szene. After starting to produce and DJ in a reggae soundsystem about 5 years ago Diago aka ZoorocK now has his focus mainly on Moombahton. „Fall On Their Knees“ is a minimal but intense Moombahton track. Kuenta i Tambú (KiT) is a group based in the Amsterdam that is heavily influenced by the traditional afro caribbean music from Curacao. Having originally formed in 2005 as an educational project to showcase their island sounds and culture to dutch students, KiT quickly evolved and soon enough had a first release out. Now, they dive deeper into the sounds of global bass with some high energy rhythms, vocal samples, chants and the ever-present tambú drums, creating some nice dance material. ‘Kuenta i Tambú’ literally means ‘Stories and Drums’ in papiamentu, which is the native language spoken on the islands of Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire. Preview the complete EP and grab a free track below. KiT EP was released yesterday and is available for purchase on iTunes.
First I thought I would do the post in German because the lyrics are Ausrtian slang, so not even sure if our German friends get the message (that was a joke) It’s so to speak an Austrian special. But since music is a global thing I’ll go a head in English.
Over the last three years we have been releasing music that style has origin from all over the world blended with European club aesthetics. Now it’s time to drop an electro house stomper with some seriuos Austrian slang rap..from right around the corner of our studio..so you all know what’s up!!
Cedrick who came 9 years old as a refugee from Burundi via Kenia to Austria started his new life as an asylum seeker in a refugee camp in upper Austria. Now Cedrick is a 22 years old proud Afro-Austrian musician one step away to the big success in Austria.
Check his first single “I Bin Da Ösi Bua”and wether you get lyrics or not BANG your head to the “Ösi Ösi” hookline and have fun.
If you like what we do support us and buy the song on Itunes – the money goes to the Austrian aid organization “SOS Mitmensch” who fight for more rights of refugees in Austria.
